Telekom Srbija provides disinfection pass channel for Children’s Reception Centre

Telekom Srbija has provided the Children’s Reception Centre of Belgrade with the necessary funds for the procurement and installation of a disinfection pass channel to ensure that the institution operates safely in accommodating and caring for children during the coronavirus epidemic. The installation of the so-called disinfection channel in front of the building will facilitate daily activities and provide safe entries to the Centre’s facility and will contribute to the preservation of the health of both the beneficiaries and the staff.

“Through donations and a number of socially responsible projects intended for youngsters, Telekom Srbija pays much attention to supporting and promoting their knowledge and the conditions for a carefree life, development and growing-up. With this donation, we wished to ensure appropriate protection and safe conditions for the accommodation of children from the most vulnerable category in the current situation, by making it possible for the Reception Centre that takes care of them to apply prevention measures for safe entries to the facility”, said Marija Bošković, head of the Public Relations Department of Telekom Srbija.

As an institution whose activities fall under the competence of the Social Welfare Secretariat of the City of Belgrade, the Reception Centre of Belgrade temporarily and fully houses children and young people from all social categories aged 7-18 who find themselves in a risk or crisis situation.

“The disinfection pass channel for objects and persons is important in the prevention of the spreading of the Covid infection. All the staff and beneficiaries, as well as other visitors to the building, will be under the obligation to pass through it. The Social Welfare Secretariat regularly supplies to its institutions protective equipment, disinfectants and disinfection barriers. The Children’s Reception Centre of Belgrade is the first social welfare institution to be supplied with a disinfection pass channel. I am using this opportunity to invite other socially responsible companies to follow in the footsteps of Telekom Srbija and lend assistance to vulnerable social groups for the welfare of the entire society”, Nataša Stanisavljević, the city secretary in charge of social welfare issues said and also thanked Telekom Srbija for this donation on behalf of the City of Belgrade.

Against the background of the current epidemiological situation, the Children’s Reception Centre in Belgrade currently accommodates 21 full-time beneficiaries, whereas the daily services of the drop-in centre have been suspended. Through individual and group activities, health treatments, educational activities and psychological workshops, with the selfless devotion of the entire staff, this institution continues to provide shelter, care and safety for the children in need.
