Telekom Srbija donates smart bench to citizens of Novi Sad
Novi Sad, the European Youth Capital and the 2021 European Capital of Culture, has received a Strawberry Smart Bench as a gift from Telekom Srbija, which will be used by the citizens for charging their mobile devices and connecting to fast optical Internet. Besides being a solar-powered charger, the Smart Bench will provide the citizens and visitors of Novi Sad with information about air quality, environmental noise level, air pressure and temperature.
The European Youth Capital was granted cutting-edge urban street furniture conveniently designed and created by the young people from Serbia - experts from Strawberry Energy. They managed to make the smart city solution developed in our country popular all over the world. Strawberry Energy has received numerous international awards for its smart bench, in the field of innovation and contribution to the development of solutions in the renewable energy domain. Their smart bench and other solutions for urban street furniture are currently featured in 23 countries.
Telekom Srbija has been cooperating with this company’s young experts ever since 2011, when they were a promising start-up that decided to develop smart solutions for the global market. The project of installing smart benches at the Republic Square in Novi Sad was implemented within the project We Support the Initiators by which Telekom Srbija tries to empower young people to initiate some positive changes in their environment. It is exactly the experts from Strawberry Energy who are among the young people recognized by Telekom Srbija as initiators.
