“Državni službenik” (Civil Servant) to be broadcast from US via Brazil to India
The right to the domestic TV series has been purchased by many world platforms; the start of Season Three scheduled for 23 April
A most popular domestic crime series Civil Servant has attracted the attention of a large number of viewers from the region. Now the international audiences will be familiarized with its mysterious plot and exciting challenges met by the main protagonists as well. The broadcasting rights for the joint production of Telekom Srbija and the Film Danas production company, have been purchased by the international platforms Disney+ of India, GloboPlay of Brazil, Somos Next and Flix Latino for the region of the US and Puerto Rico, Pop TV, Brio kanal and Voyo of Slovenia and RTL and the Play Premium platform of Croatia. This veritable proof of the quality of the series also announced the start of Season Three on 23 April at 9 p.m. on Superstar Channel. The 14 new episodes will be premiered on weekends.
“We have managed to achieve our goal set at the very beginning of our investments in the production of series – to internationalize the content because, from the very beginning, we have been confident of their quality and the quality of actors, directors, producers and screenwriters. Our series are now broadcast on five continents, and the Civil Servant has set high standards which we will maintain in the future as well”, said Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lučić.
The creator of this action series, Predrag Gaga Antonijević, who is also the producer, along with the co-producer, Maksa Ćatović, director Miroslav Lekić and the remarkable cast, managed to create a work which will rivet the attention of the viewers from beginning to end. Together with the characters, the audiences will experience their victories and defeats and the dilemmas posed by curfews, lockdowns and situations in which nothing but staying healthy is important.
“None of the earlier attempts to create a movie in which the main character is part of public security has been welcomed by either domestic or international audiences. Currently, owing to Telekom Srbija and the brilliant team, most of the international audiences will have an opportunity to watch the series”, Antonijević said.
The plot of Series Three will be set against the background of contemporary circumstances in the world – the COVID-19 pandemic. The main protagonist, Lazar Stanojević, whose role is rendered by Milan Marić, a civil servant who takes his job seriously, will encounter fresh problems at work and on a family plane.
“It is thanks to the Telekom Srbija company, who is the major buyer of audio-video content in this region, that many projects are now made possible. The talks prior to the filming were lengthy and difficult…they lasted for a full five minutes“, producer Maksa Ćatović said laughingly.
According to director Miroslav Lekić, through all three seasons, the Civil Servant tackled topical issues, so that the coronavirus was a logical choice. He added that the filming of this season was also the most difficult project on which he had worked due to restrictions and shooting bans on some sights, etc…
Ironically, as Season Three deals with the topic of the global pandemic, the main protagonist, Milan Marić, tested positive for coronavirus the night before the start of shooting. He said that the story of the civil servant was well-conceived and dealt with in Season One which had been very exciting and full of suspense, only in the new season to become more complicated and be resolved in the manner that the viewers would find interesting.
No doubt yet another exciting season which continues to attract the attention of the audiences not only in the region but the whole of the world.
