Smart bench for Milutin Milanković Secondary School Students’ Home
Telekom Srbija has presented a Strawberry smartbench to the Milutin Milanković Secondary School Students’ Home in Belgrade to mark an important anniversary of this institution – 60 years from its foundation. The smartbench is installed in the park within the Home so that apart from the students residing in it, it will also be available to pupils and students of the other two educational institutions situated within the same compound: PTT Technical High School with which Telekom Srbija has maintained years-long cooperation in the sphere of vocational practical training and since last year, cooperation in the dual education sphere, and IT College.
The Park is a place for relaxation and studying in peace surrounded by greenery. This is why it was selected as the right location for the Smartbench which will provide to pupils and students access to free mts wireless internet and a solar charger for mobile handsets as well as information about air humidity, pressure, and noise and carbon-dioxide levels that can help in the organization of classes in the sphere of environmental protection and renewable energy sources.
Milutin Milanković Secondary School Students’ Home is an educational institution of special social interest, and the installation of the Smartbench will also support the initiative launched by this institution to convert the park in front of the Home into a Milutin Milanković Science Park where, apart from availing of the above benefits, the students will also be able to attend educational workshops, panel discussions and seminars which are often organized at the institution.
The Smartbench is an innovative technological solution designed by the Strawberry energy company with which Telekom Srbija has maintained a decade-long partner cooperation. As part of its programme We Initiate the Initiators, over the past two years, Telekom Srbija presented Smartbenches to the City of Novi Sad and the Centre for Educational Advancement in the town of Leskovac. The We Initiate the Initiators Programme is aimed at empowering and encouraging young people to initiate local innovative and positive changes. It is precisely the founders of the Strawberry energy company that were the true initiators of the novelties when as a prospective start-up, using state-of-the-art technologies, they began to develop smart solutions for urban environments currently used across the world.
