Telekom Srbija becomes full-fledged member of European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association (ETNO)

At the 58th General Assembly of the European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association – ETNO, held in La Valetta in Malta, Telekom Srbija has become a full-fledged member of this prestigious organization.

“It is a great honour and obligation to be in the company of the greatest European telecommunications operators. We believe that our admission to full-fledged membership testifies to the fact that we have operated well in the period so far and that this is also an opportunity for us to learn a lot and improve our activities through cooperation with the best in our industry. This primarily refers to the digitalization process and many other issues that will shape the telecommunications market in Europe in the period to come”, Telekom Srbija CEO Predrag Ćulibrk said.

During the meeting of the General Assembly held on 17 October, ETNO announced its Europe 2013 Agenda which builds on three main pillars: world-class connectivity, leadership in technology and services, and citizens at the centre. Among other things,the agenda underlines the importance of increased investment indigital network technologies, sustainability-oriented innovation, demand-side policies and leadership in data-enabled services. It also stresses the need to promote a shift from a market-focused to a citizen-focused approach in digital policymaking.

ETNO has been the voice of telecommunications network operators since 1992 and has become the principal policy group of Europe’s electronic communications network operators. Its 39 members and observers from Europe and beyond represents the backbone of Europe’s digital progress. They are the main drivers of broadband and are committed to its continual growth in Europe.

ETNO closely contributes to shaping the best regulatory and commercial environment for its members to continue rolling out innovative and high-quality services and platforms for the benefit of European consumers and businesses.
