Telekom Srbija continues to support digital education through “We Create Knowledge” project
Within the “We Create Knowledge” project of the Telekom Srbija company, the citizens voted on the official mts Tvoj svet Facebook page to select 20 new elementary schools throughout Serbia which will get one million dollars each for the procurement of modern computer equipment for computer science classrooms. This project is conducted for an eighth time in cooperation with the Ministry of Education with the aim of improving the digital literacy of elementary school students. The online voting lasted 10 days, and the list of schools that will receive a donation can be found at the following link.
To make it possible for elementary school students from various parts of the country to attend their classes in a modern environment, the Telekom Srbija company supported the equipping of 160 elementary schools including the current round of the project investing 160 million dollars for this purpose.
The citizens had the chance to vote, both for the school in their surroundings and for schools from other areas, and a large interest of the local community was recorded during the voting.
The development of computer skills and becoming acquainted with various content on the Internet is important for every generation of young people in a modern, digitalized world, and education in this sphere is key for their safety considering the everyday use of the Internet.
The funds intended for the “We Create Knowledge” project contribute to improving the computer infrastructure at schools, while modern computers and other computer equipment bring new possibilities to master the teaching materials and learn with the help of other advantages that the digital world offers.
The socially responsible project “We Create Knowledge” is implemented within the Telekom Srbija program entitled “We Support the Initiators”, which is directed at supporting the individuals and institutions in order to launch positive changes and empower the community as a whole. Apart from the company’s contribution to the development of digital literacy, the great interest of schools and local communities for the “We Create Knowledge” project is an additional encouragement for Telekom Srbija to carry on with the project.
