Musical fairy tale “Kruna” features famous actors in absolutely original genre
Belgrade, January 27, 2023 - The film and TV series “Kruna”/”The Crown”, a musical fairy tale with the elements of a thriller and, according to the creator, the largest project of domestic production over the last 50 years, is currently being filmed in Belgrade, and the director Vasilije Nikitović says that this story about fame, success and love is sure to stand out, both for its content and for its unique genre in which music plays one of the main “roles”.
“The Crown” is produced by Telekom Srbija, Kinooko Film and 100 Strong Production, while the head of Telekom Srbija's Multimedia Division, Aleksandra Martinović, stated that this project was special and once again confirmed that Telekom offered the audience a wide variety of content.
“I am sure that due to its acting and musical quality this will become an international project, since our content is already viewed on five continents around the world. Numerous new premieres, new seasons of well-known series await us, and I am glad that together with all these talented people we are raising the quality bar of the domestic cinema”, she said.
The actor Dragan Jovanović plays one of the main roles, which is according to him the noblest character he has played so far.
“I play the character of Roman, the king of the Roma camp. The story spans over 30 years and in all that time, as the king of song and music, I have never voluntarily made a single sound recording of my musical performance. My character transcends the conservative and goes into the realm of the autistic in his self-sufficiency. Strict, fair and undisputed as an authority, I rule the camp together with my wife”, he said.
The main backbone of the project, the music without which the fairy tale would not be possible, was entirely entrusted to Goran Bregović, who also has an acting role, while one of the protagonists is also the famous musician Rambo Amadeus.
The Producer Dušan Stojaković stated that the project was supported by the Serbian Film Centre and Telekom Srbija, and that all the involved parties believed in the success of the project from the very beginning. “Since October 19, when the shooting began, the director has been extremely enthusiastic about Kruna, which has charmed the entire team, and which is why I believe in its success on the domestic, regional and even the world stage”, he stressed.
The film and the series “The Crown” brought together a rich cast including Igor Benčina, Vanja Ejdus, Sonja Kolačarić, Vuk Kostić, Stefan Bundalo, Iva Štrljić, Jana Ilić Milić, Branislav Zeremski, Gordan Kicić, Srđan Todorović, Sergej Trifunović and Petar Strugar, and also features actress Una Bregović, the daughter of Goran Bregović, who has appeared on the big screen for the first time.
The premiere of the film “The Crown” is scheduled for autumn, while the series will be broadcast on the Superstar TV channel.
