mts STREETBALL LEAGUE: Telekom Srbija and Arena Channels Group stand by new champions

A new 3 on 3 basketball competition, mts STREETBALL LEAGUE, was presented on the Arena Channels Group premises. The promotion of this interesting tournament was attended by Telekom Srbija CEO, Vladimir Lučić, Arena Channels Group Director Nebojsa Žugić and the director of the mts Streetball League, Petar Hranisavljević.

Of course, when it comes to the popularization of domestic sports, the indispensable partners in this process include Arena Channels Group and Telekom Srbija, with the aim of emphasizing the importance of going in for sports for all social categories. In addition to the top event that we will attend at Kalemegdan Park, the competition will also have a socially responsible character because on the first day, juniors and basketball players in wheelchairs will be competing.

“We are honoured to be part of the project, for, apart from purchasing the best international sport, we wish to sponsor the best that comes from Serbia. Our strategy is to produce 50 percent of the programme broadcast on TV Arena sport, being the largest sports television in the region, and thus encourage young people to go in for sports”, Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lučić said. The director of Arena Channels Group, Nebojša Žugić, had this to add: “We are lucky to be living in the era of the greatest state investments in sports, primarily owing to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, the Serbian government and Ministry of Youth and Sports. New sports fields and sporting facilities are developed across the country with the aim of bringing back young people to sports fields. Every neighbourhood will obtain at least one basketball hoop under which new champions will be growing up”.

This year’s streetball carnival will include nine tournaments. Apart from the capital city, streetball will also be played in the towns of Čačak, Kragujevac, Požarevac, Vrnjačka Banja and Ćićevac.

“We will welcome some of the best European teams and have prepared awards unseen in this region so far. The winners of each tournament will receive 200,000 dinars each, and the winners of the final tournament will be awarded 500,000 dinars“, said MTS Streetball League Director Petar Hranisavljević.

In the Partizan basketball courts at Mali Kalemegdan on 16 and 17 May, some of the best streetball players of Europe will compete, given that the outstanding teams of Latvia, Lithuanian, Slovenia, Hungary, China, Croatia, the Netherland and many other countries have confirmed their participation.
