Computer equipment donated to Elementary School Branko Radičević in Sedlare

Within the project entitled “We Create Knowledge”, the Telekom Srbija company, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, has equipped 20 computer classrooms in elementary schools throughout Serbia this year. The head of the company’s PR Department, Marija Bošković ceremoniously granted the computer equipment and accompanying items to Elementary School Branko Radičević in Sedlare, in the presence of the academic advisor to School Administration in Jagodina, Aleksandra Stevanović.  

Marija Bošković said that the project “We Create Knowledge” was implemented within the program  “We Support the Initiators” and that young people and education were at the centre of the socially responsible activities of Telekom Srbija. 

“As a socially responsible company, Telekom Srbija monitors the needs of the community, so that within the project “We Create Knowledge”, over the last three years, we have equipped 60 information science classrooms in 60 elementary schools in Serbia. At the Ministry’s proposal and thanks to the support and votes of our fellow citizens, Elementary School Branko Radičević in Sedlare is one of the 20 schools that have received computer equipment this year. This confirms the fact that success is easier to attain through team work and that joint efforts to reach a single goal always prove effective”, said Marija Bošković. She expressed satisfaction at the fact that the computer classroom equipped in a modern way will make it easier for students to acquire knowledge and that it would also help teachers improve their digital literacy and explain to students the advantages and dangers of modern technology.

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Education, the academic advisor to School Administration in Jagodina, Aleksandra Stevanović, emphasized the importance of the “We Create Knowledge” project and the donation of Telekom Srbija for the improvement of the education process.  

Elementary School Branko Radičević is one of the 20 schools that were selected by the citizens during an Internet vote. The headmistress Snežana Resavac stressed the importance of engaging the local community during the vote and selection of the school.   

“I am proud that on the occasion of marking Children’s Week our school will open the door of the newly equipped information science classroom. Thanks to the project of the Telekom Srbija company, “We Create Knowledge”, we have gained the right to a donation worth a million dinars and equipped a classroom with computers and accompanying equipment, so that the students will have the chance to improve their information literacy and acquire knowledge more easily and quickly in the new classroom. Every success brings with it a new responsibility, and we will try to justify the trust they have placed in us and keep being successful at future competitions”, said Snežana Resavac.

Representatives of the Telekom Srbija company, the school administration and the media visited the students’ exhibition entitled “Knowledge Time Machine” featuring the most significant inventions that have contributed to the development of science and education.

Apart from Elementary School Branko Radičević from Sedlare, funds for the equipment of information classrooms have this year also been granted to elementary schools Đura Jakšić in Čurug, Doža Đerđ in Gunaroš, Branko Ćopić in Lukićevo, Sava Munćan in Kruščica, Jovan Popović in Susek, Majur in Majur, St Sava in Popučke, Petar Vragolić in Ljubovija, 14 October in Barič, 9 May in Sastavci, St Sava in Toponica, Karađorđe in Rača, Milan Munjas in Ub, Sreten Lazarević in Prilike, Vuk Karadžić in Donji Milanovac, Dositej Obradović in Vražogrnac, Branko Radičević in Trgovište, Stana Bačanin in Leposavić and Vuk Karadžić in Žitni Potok.
