Telekom Srbija receives prize for socially responsible operations from Serbian Chamber of Commerce
The Telekom Srbija company has won one of the most important prizes for socially responsible operations, “Đorđe Vajfert”,granted by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. In the category of large business companies, Telekom Srbija was awarded for the project “We Support the Initiators” and for commitment to principles of socially responsible operations.
Encouraged by the success of the individual projects it develops, the Telekom Srbija company, in 2018, launched the roof program “We Support the Initiators” whose aim is to empower institutions and individuals to initiate positive changes in their environment and encourage others to choose this path. The roof program includes the projects “We Create Knowledge”, “mts App Competition”, “mts Start-Up Acceleration”. Through these programs, the company invests in young initiators who belong to different generations and who can contribute to positive social changes, believing that stable support at the very beginning can make it easier for them to acquire new knowledge and is crucial for their further development.
Twenty-five large companies took part in the competition for the Serbian Chamber of Commerce award. Based on high criteria and a several–stage evaluation process, the expert jury, apart from the evaluation of the project itself, also took into account the entire operations of the company, with a special emphasis on contribution to community as a whole, and the company’s attitude toward its employees, the environment and the customers.
The Serbian Chamber of Commerce has granted this prestigious award every other year, since 2007. In previous years, Telekom Srbija was also awarded for the projects “Digitalization of Chilandari” and “Do Something”, and in 2015, its project “Park Your Phone While Driving!” won the first prize for socially responsible operations.
