Traditional holiday donation of Telekom Srbija

By a traditional holiday donation of books to elementary schools, the Telekom Srbija company, has for as long as six years reminded the public of the importance of the development of the  reading culture in young children. Thus, thanks to this campaign, the libraries of ten selected schools will be enriched with over 1,200 titles of the national and world literature. Among the numerous works intended for elementary school children are Andersen's and Pushkin's fairy tales, various didactic encyclopedia and the classics of Serbian literature such as “Zona Zamfirova” and “Nečista krv”.   

The book-giving campaign, which was launched in 2015, is part of the umbrella program We Support the Initiators, which unites all projects of the company directed at the development of youth and supporting the educational system. In the six years during which the campaign has been conducted, the valuable donation of Telekom Srbija – over 11,500 titles, have been granted to almost 60 schools throughout Serbia. In the selection of schools, priority is given to those that need to renew the book fund, so that this year the jury has chosen schools from larger cities, but also those from smaller towns.  

Telekom Srbija also implements its support to elementary school students through the project We Create Knowledge within which 80 schools across Serbia have been granted new information science classrooms over the last four years. As a company committed to technological advancement, Telekom Srbija invests in the development of digital literacy of young children, but also tries to draw attention to the need of fostering the traditional and true values, which are still an integral part of growing up, such as reading books in the original paperback.

The elementary schools that have this year received the book donation from the Telekom Srbija company are: Kralj Aleksandar Prvi, Požarevac, Vojislav Voka Savić, Lazarevac, Vuk Karadžić, Prilužje, Saint Sava, Pirot, Mile Dubljević, Bajevac, Branko Pešić, Zemun, Mladost, Vrnjci, Đura Jakšić, Krivelj, Miladin Kovačević, Bačevci and Miloje Zakić, Kuršumlija.
