Telekom Srbija launches new cycle of We Create Knowledge project
Belgrade, 26 June 2020 – The Telekom Srbija company launched the fourth cycle of the We Create Knowledge project, within which the citizens may vote on the company’s official Facebook page mts Tvoj svet, at the following address, and choose another 20 elementary schools to which the company will donate funds for the procurement of modern information science equipment. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, which has once again this year shortlisted 40 schools lacking information science equipment.
As in the previous cycles, of the total of 40 proposed schools, twenty schools with the most votes will receive funds for information science equipment, by which Telekom Srbija will create conditions for the pupils to improve their knowledge with digitalized classes. In this way, Telekom Srbija has already equipped 60 schools throughout Serbia, in the previous cycles.
The voting began on 26 June, at 12 p.m, and will last until 5 July, at 12 p.m, after which the company will announce the winners of valuable donations. Telekom Srbija invites all Facebook users to visit the official mts page and select the schools which will receive information science equipment.
All Facebook users with residence in the Republic of Serbia, who have liked the Facebook page mts Tvoj svet, have the right to participate. To allow equal access to new computer equipment to elementary school pupils in all parts of Serbia, the schools have been divided into four geographical areas. Five schools from each of these areas with the largest number of votes will receive an information science classroom. Every user can vote for one school from each geographic area every day, i.e. vote four times a day. After a period of 24 hours, the user may again access the application and vote.
The company’s investment in education and the We Create Knowledge campaign, which has been organized for the fourth time under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, will become even more important from September this year when the first class pupils in Serbia get a new subject called Digital World, which will allow them to acquire the basic knowledge from this sphere.
The We Create Knowledge project is carried out within the umbrella program We Support the Initiators, which Telekom Srbija has implemented for years for the purpose of empowering the institutions and individuals to initiate positive changes in their environment and encourage others on this path.
