End of this year’s cycle of UdruŽene project

 A visit to the women’s associations Vidovdan from Crepaja and Etno Kutak from Kačarevo marked the end of this year’s cycle of the UdruŽene project by which the Telekom Srbija company supports women entrepreneurship and empowers women in order to support their active participation in the development of local communities. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Gender Equality Council of the Vojvodina Government.

The association’s members from Crepaja and Kačarevo presented their entrepreneurial and humanitarian activities, along with the activities that contribute to the preservation of tradition and rich cultural heritage.  

The head of the PR Department of Telekom Srbija, Marija Bošković said that the company had donated 200,000 dinars to each of the associations in order to improve their operation. “We are glad that apart from the financial support, we have managed to arouse the interest of the media in this topic and additionally promote the activities of all associations. Women are the pillar of the family, but also an important factor in the development of the local community, because with their work they additionally contribute to the recognizability of their jobs”. She said that Telekom Srbija advocated a gender equal treatment of women in all aspects of the working and living environment. “Telekom Srbija is recognized for its additional support to women for the purpose of promoting women entrepreneurship, primarily technological entrepreneurship, because it is the future of our activity. To achieve this, however, we must not forget or neglect our tradition and our roots and the women engaged in traditional professions, because with their hard work they are also building our future”, said Marija Bošković.

Since the largest number of women’s associations were formed exactly on the territory of Vojvodina, the Company presented its cooperation with twenty women’s associations from this part of Serbia during the project, which Telekom Srbija supports in their mission to preserve, foster and promote tradition, old crafts and humanitarian work.

“The GenderEquality Council is clearly committed to the need to improve the position of women, and improve the local communities in general, so that cooperation with the Telekom Srbija company is crucial in creating the preconditions for the creation and implementation of activities aimed at improving the position of women, especially women in rural areas. Such an example of socially responsible behavior implemented by Telekom Srbija shows that all of us must pay attention to our attitude toward the social community, its needs, security, the quality of life and social status”, said Mia Strajin, the chairperson of the Gender Equality Council of the Vojvodina Government.

The support of Telekoma Srbija is very important for the work of women’s associations and the improvement of their regular activities. “Thanks to the donation of the Telekom Srbija company we have purchased the equipment that will help us increase the production of the famous Crepaja noodles that we are known for and that we want to turn into a unique brand”, said Jovanka Jovanov, the president of the Vidovdan association from Crepaja.

Zora Čubrić, the president of the Etno Kutak association said that their main aim was to promote the culture, tradition and tourism of Kačarevo and South Banat. “We are involved in humanitarian work, and the empowerment of women through various workshops and training programs so they can start their own business. The funds we have received from the Telekom Srbija company will allow us to buy the material and organize a training program for weaving”, said the association’s president in Kačarevo.

Apart from the associations from Crepaja and Kačarevo, Telekom Srbija, within the UdruŽene project, also supported the women’s associations from Šid, Čerević, Karavukovo, Bač, Tovariševo, Radičević, Srbobran, Sivac, Kraljevci, Jazak, Futog, Maradik, Izbište, Vladimirovci, Jarkovac, Kanjiža, Senta and Banatsko Veliko Selo.
