Winners of Second Regional App Challenge Visit Berlin
The winners of the second Regional App Challenge, talented high school students from Senta, Banjaluka and Podgorica, have visited the IDTechEx Show in Berlin, one of the leading international IoT conferences. This multi-sector conference includes various spheres of contemporary technological solutions, and is especially interesting for students in the part that refers to the application of IoT sensor technology.
Apart from the possibility to become acquainted with the new trends in the sphere of technology, the conference also offers students the chance to socialize and exchange experiences and knowledge with their peers from the region.
“We like the atmosphere at this conference very much, especially the exhibition part. There are a lot of visitors, and it shows innovations which will be applied in the future. We became acquainted with the latest technologies, and we found sensors and the IoT technology very interesting. This is a great experience”, said members of the team from Senta.
The visit to the Berlin conference and learning about the novelties it brings make it possible for the students to expand the knowledge and experience acquired at school and in the creation of applications at the mts app competition.
“After the success that the mts app competition has had in Serbia for a number of years, we are glad to have winners of the Regional App Challenge for a second year in a row. By this competition Telekom Srbija tries to provide support for education, development of the team spirit and entrepreneurship in young people, believing that they are the true initiators and heralds of positive changes in society”, said Miroslava Tešin Popović, the corporate social responsibility manager in Telekom Srbija. She added that the mts app competition is one of the leading projects within the program We Support the Initiators, which the company is implementing with the aim to empower institutions and individuals to initiate changes in their environment and encourage others to follow this path.
An eight mts app competition has been held this year in the organization of the Telekom Srbija company, while m:tel Montenegro and m:tel Bosnia and Herzegovina have organized a competition according to the same rules for a second year in a row. The winners of the national competitions arrived in Podgorica at the end of February to attend the finals of the second Regional App Challenge, when the winners were declared – teams whose applications were ranked best according to their functionality, idea and possibilities for application in everyday life.
