Sixth round of “We Create Knowledge” project begins
In an attempt to additionally support the development of the necessary digital skills in elementary school pupils, the Telekom Srbija company, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, through the “We Create Knowledge” project, has so far equipped 100 information science classrooms in 100 elementary schools throughout Serbia. By the launching of the new, sixth round of the project, this list will be expanded to include another 20 schools, which will once again this year be chosen by the citizens of Serbia.
Voting for the schools that will receive one million dinars each from Telekom Srbija for the equipment of their information science classrooms began on 23 May 2022, at noon, on the official Facebook page mts Tvoj Svet, and it shall last ten days, until 1 June 2022, at noon.
The selection of 40 elementary schools that need modern information science equipment was made by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, and the citizens' votes will help select 20 schools which will receive the valuable donation of the Telekom Srbija company. The aim of the project is to allow elementary school pupils in all parts of our country to have equal access to well-equipped information science classrooms, so they can acquire knowledge and follow the curriculum more easily, which is why schools were divided into four geographical regions. Upon the vote, five schools with most votes from each region will receive new computer equipment.
All those who want to take part in the vote have to be users of the Facebook social network, with residence in the Republic of Serbia, and they have to like the Facebook page mts Tvoj Svet. A user may vote once in the course of one day, for one school from each of the four geographical regions, i.e, cast a total of four votes. Upon the expiry of 24 hours, the user has the right to once again access the application and vote.
The “We Create Knowledge” project is part of Telekom Srbija's umbrella program “We Support the Initiators” which empowers the institutions and individuals to launch positive changes in their environment and encourage other members of the community to make such endeavours. Since it is easier to acquire new skills while you are young, the company through this project supports elementary school pupils who are entering the world of digital technologies, and in accordance with its strategic commitment, tries to provide them with the best conditions where they can acquire knowledge they will need in the future.
